Cebit and is imbalance always a bad thing?
Hiho everyone! For those of you that does not know Im visiting the country of beer and bratwurst; Germany. The last few days me and bogdan have been promoting the free-to-play online rts/rpg Avalon Heroes. Its actually quite fun showing people the game teaching them to play (Atm im actually sitting next to the We Made Fox guys and they teach me a lot :P) and then sum up each day with a 5on5 that ends with a "pricecermony" + interview at the main stage. Ofc you can all watch me on ESL-TV around 16:00 each day. Sure it only lasts for 5 minutes, but since you all have those cravings for me it should be worth it :D
Today was prolly the most fun since we met two swedish guys that usually plays dota, so it was easy to just teach them the basics and win the game in 20 min. One of the game I ended up 40-1 and the next one Bogdan ended up with 27-0 or something so we have our part of bashing noobs each day :P So before I forget it a shoutout to Nisse and Svenskturk ^^
Today I spent some mins checking out gosugamers etc to keep me updated in the dota scene and I couldnt miss reading about Drayichs opinions concerning magic stick and some other stuff in DotA. I have to say I agree with the stuff he writes about enigma ulti etc, but I do not really know how you would balance stuff like that... Should all ulties have shorter cd early on then? I mean you would have to completely remake the game if that wasnt the case. Imagine some of the heroes like Tide, zeus and so on with shorter cd :D But ofc this could easily be fixed by countless hours of tweaking and so on ^^.
MAGIC STICK: When it comes to magic stick on the other hand I disagree a lot with what dray is writing... I mean sure its a good opinion and Ive actually talked to Icefrog several times about this item. We both agree that its obviously imbalanced with such a cheap prize, but we also think that its a nescessary imbalance that actually brings a lot more action to the game. I mean what dray is not discussing is the thing that magic stick actually makes a lot of fights more action packed, and those times when u survive just because you use magic stick is a thing of skill imho and not something that makes the game worse or slower. I think that those cheap "skilled" items brings a lot of more skills to the table! This is ofc just another opinion of the item and not the right one (Ofc its the right one... But I have to be humble sometimes right? :D)
So Magic stick imbalance = Good imbalance! And thinking about it in a defensive way is just the wrong way to think! I mean I love how magic stick makes it easier for heroes like sven with low mana pool to afford an extra stun during a battle!
Now Im gonna move on to some concert in one of the halls here at cebit + some food and drinks with Tim and the SK guys, and since bogdan is standing behind me commenting on my flawed english I lost the will to keep writing... I mean sure its fine commenting and correcting stuff like writing (I usually only apreciate it) but Bogdan has done it for so long that it usually just pisses me off... Some people just always have to be right and I believe you all have one of those around you in your life :D
Bogdan = BESSERWISSER = ANNOYING
Get some pics coming from that cebit!
and he will instantly be reduced to "i play dota for sk"
magic stick should be in dota foreva )
You are the best, good luck for you.
