Im sitting in my parents apartment and im just waiting to catch the train to Lund. I just ordered some clothes from the net, and of course this was celebrated with a walkoff vs myself! It all went smooth and I was just absolutely dashing. This is when everything went wrong... It was me vs the new cap! I''ve had a bad experience when it comes to caps, but since my last one served me for all those year and helped me reach a lot of victories, I was confident that I would be able to end the confrontation right away with just putting it on my head. Oh how wrong I was... The cap was a lot smaller than I thought it was, so when I tried to put it on I heard the heartfreezing sound of CHRUNCH.

It feels like I broke my spine in ten different places and In the future I'll probably look something like this:

Smart or Skilled?

March 15th 2010 at 00:11 by Loda

Ok so I had a pretty interesting discussion with bogdan the other day. Usually when the two of us get together to share some quality lovetime we end up discussing some part of DotA, and this time we discussed the kind of players there are, and the difference between some of the high lvl dotaplayers out there. We both agreed that there are two kind of players; Smart and Skilled.

Of course it's not that black and white with some players being only smart or only skilled, but it's easier to put them in two different groups. I will write down some stuff about each of the groups, but first I'll just list a couple of players that I think suits best in one or the other. Since I am not that into the asian scene I'll just list the ones from Europe and America that comes to mind, and maybe you guys can add some names of your own if you think im right in what I write.

Smart: So what deifnes a smart player? Well as the name states it's someone who's smart (No shit? :D), but what I mean is that they think through every move the make. Their farming, ganging and fighting is defined by what they know is the smartest in theory. A smart player is a person who skills a hero in a certain way just because it should be the best way to utilize the hero in the game. When it comes to itemchoices the smart player will go for what is absolutely the best for the hero and the team. For example a smart bm will always go for necro 3 since it works well with the pig/bird and then BoT to easier gang the lanes with ultimate. If you watch LightOfHeaven play Bm you will realise that when he throws axes to dmg heroes he often(if not always) also hits a couple of creeps or neutrals just to utilize the power of axes to its fullest. The smart player knows what is the best, but things doesn't come as easy for them. They often need play more to reach the same lvl as the skilled player but when they do it's a very scary player to face since they play it safe, smart and use each hero in the way that's right 90% of the time.

Maelk

Bogdan (had to be mentioned!)

LightOfHeaven

Fear

Puppey

Skilled: The skilled player is the kind of guy that does not give a shit to what people say is the right build or in what kind of way you should play. These players are genuine players that has a love for the game and for them it's as easy to play dota as it is to ride a bike! Sometimes they know that in theory their choice is the wrong one, but it just feels right and usually pays off into a godlike moment :) Vigoss is the obvious choice as this kind of player. How many times didn't vigoss go on a suicide run just to grab that kill? Often he would even get out of an impossible position where no one even saw what happened ^^ Some players evolve into smart players just to better help the team, because you need to keep in mind that without a couple of smart players that reads the game in the right way to help you do those crazy moves it woldn't happen. I for one was never a big fan of Vigoss, more of those who played around him and made it all work out in the masterpiece that was their playstyle!

Vigoss

PGG

Kuroky

Dendi

Misery

So where would you put me? Where would you put your favourite player? Just comment and I'll see if we have the same ideas =)

Cebit and is imbalance always a bad thing?

March 4th 2010 at 19:25 by Loda

Hiho everyone! For those of you that does not know Im visiting the country of beer and bratwurst; Germany. The last few days me and bogdan have been promoting the free-to-play online rts/rpg Avalon Heroes. Its actually quite fun showing people the game teaching them to play (Atm im actually sitting next to the We Made Fox guys and they teach me a lot :P) and then sum up each day with a 5on5 that ends with a "pricecermony" + interview at the main stage. Ofc you can all watch me on ESL-TV around 16:00 each day. Sure it only lasts for 5 minutes, but since you all have those cravings for me it should be worth it :D

Today was prolly the most fun since we met two swedish guys that usually plays dota, so it was easy to just teach them the basics and win the game in 20 min. One of the game I ended up 40-1 and the next one Bogdan ended up with 27-0 or something so we have our part of bashing noobs each day :P So before I forget it a shoutout to Nisse and Svenskturk ^^

Today I spent some mins checking out gosugamers etc to keep me updated in the dota scene and I couldnt miss reading about Drayichs opinions concerning magic stick and some other stuff in DotA. I have to say I agree with the stuff he writes about enigma ulti etc, but I do not really know how you would balance stuff like that... Should all ulties have shorter cd early on then? I mean you would have to completely remake the game if that wasnt the case. Imagine some of the heroes like Tide, zeus and so on with shorter cd :D But ofc this could easily be fixed by countless hours of tweaking and so on ^^.

MAGIC STICK: When it comes to magic stick on the other hand I disagree a lot with what dray is writing... I mean sure its a good opinion and Ive actually talked to Icefrog several times about this item. We both agree that its obviously imbalanced with such a cheap prize, but we also think that its a nescessary imbalance that actually brings a lot more action to the game. I mean what dray is not discussing is the thing that magic stick actually makes a lot of fights more action packed, and those times when u survive just because you use magic stick is a thing of skill imho and not something that makes the game worse or slower. I think that those cheap "skilled" items brings a lot of more skills to the table! This is ofc just another opinion of the item and not the right one (Ofc its the right one... But I have to be humble sometimes right? :D)

So Magic stick imbalance = Good imbalance! And thinking about it in a defensive way is just the wrong way to think! I mean I love how magic stick makes it easier for heroes like sven with low mana pool to afford an extra stun during a battle!

Now Im gonna move on to some concert in one of the halls here at cebit + some food and drinks with Tim and the SK guys, and since bogdan is standing behind me commenting on my flawed english I lost the will to keep writing... I mean sure its fine commenting and correcting stuff like writing (I usually only apreciate it) but Bogdan has done it for so long that it usually just pisses me off... Some people just always have to be right and I believe you all have one of those around you in your life :D

DDT vs Unique + a random SF replay

February 25th 2010 at 21:08 by Loda

So I just finished playing our game in F4F vs Unique (The german team) and I have to say we had a pretty easy run finishing ze germans off. Ducky and miggel had cooked up a semipush/semikillall strat that we executed fine even if we had not pracced it before. The lineups were

UNIQUE

Tauren Chieftain (Top)

Vengeful Spirit (Top)

Bane (Mid)

Morph (Bot)

Enigma (Top woods)

VS

DDT

Bristleback (Top)

Keeper of the light (Top)

Shadow fiend (Mid)

Witch Doctor (Bot)

Sven (Bot)

We decided to go roshan lvl 1 with goo and some other shit and were able to get the upper hand with everyone being lvl 2 from start, SF grabbed the aegis and the rest of us went to our lanes. I played bristle this game and got a bit fucked up on the top lane by their tripple, and we realised it would have been better to let bristle grab the aegis for an easier time farming top. Anyways We won both mid and bottom lane and made them start roam since they lacked controle over the map. This resulted in me and Kotl being able to push bot top towers early and after this we just kept taking towers, taking 5on5 fights and just keep the pressure up. Sentinel tried keeping up a good fight, but the item difference and coordination from our team was just too strong and we grabbed the win after about 20 min. We were all insanely fat and high lvled so there wasn't much for sentinel to do!

Replay: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H44KJ59L

I'm just throwing in a random DP2 Replay where I played Shadow Fiend since a lot of people has kept pondering me about why I never play this hero. It's not the best kind of players nor the best replay, but it does have its bright moments! So enjoy

Replay 2: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0UELVLPC

Why oh why?!

February 25th 2010 at 02:21 by Loda

Welcome back to the dark thoughts of Loda my young padawans, and yes with dark I mean DARK! Today my garena account has been hacked for the 100th time and I will now have to search deeper into my mind to find something that suits me.

Many of you have expressed your opinions about me and my several nicknames I've been using over the years and now I'll tell you the reason to why I change it so often! I GET HACKED BY IDIOTS THAT TAKE MY ACCOUNT AND FEED IN PUBLIC ROOMS!!!! Sure I can understand why someone would like to be me for one day, but really? Why would someone steal an account like SK.ReidarDahlen, SK.Banana, Iwin4Aids or LiveAndLetLoda? How long do you think you can keep the charade up????

This reminds me about the time the famous "MYM|Mark" stole bogdans auth on irc and then his account on garena. But this guy took it all to a new level! It started with me getting pmed on irc by bogdan, but the wierd thing was that bogdan didn't speak swedish nor did he make sense what so ever. I kept talking to him a while, but I just laughed at his poor english and the retardness just shone through and I ended the conversation by flaming (I am actually one of the few people that got black belt in flaming) him untill he cried.

So this is my question to you, Why would you steal someone and try to be them when you can't even keep the sorry act up? I mean if I stole someones account I would try to behave like that person, but if you can't speak english or even anything close to it why do you try to keep the charade up? It only makes you look even more sad and your E-Peen has to shrink atleast 10 cm just by getting caught :D

With this question I'll leave you tonight and throw myself at the schoolwork I can't be dodging any longer

Oh yea and I'm going back to Gothenburg this weekend to party and then on to Germany on monday so if you're out on saturday mb you'll catch a glimps of the lodalicious ;)

Ok everyone so I'm just gonna link you a video featuring the dota player Not_DJ_Rhasta ( Yea I know his name makes no sense right?)

A pretty cool vid with good effects, mb not the most amazing moves but it's always fun to see pgg and misery rage =D

Snow snow snow................

February 21st 2010 at 03:12 by Loda

Hiho everyone!

Right now I hate sweden... I don't understand when we actually turned into the blistering cold country with polar bears on the streat that the americans talk about. It has been snowing for DAYS DAYS DAYS, usually we have like two weeks of snow where I come from, but this year everything is different... The snow has been laying on the streets for months and it just doesn't want to diiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeee. Or well dunno if you say that snow is alive, but I do believe it has some kind of evil brain, because when I actually go outside it invades every part of my body and slowly slowly breaks down everything I am!!!!!!

So since it's cold and wet outside I have an excuse to stay inside and play starcraft 2 with Akke =D It went really well for some time, but then it all ended with the two of us loosing 1v2 after destroying one of the opponents... I also took some time to get a better hang of Avalon and ofc squeezed in some dp 2 games! Ended it all with playing an inhouse with some of the players from DIPS, my team won in 18 minutes, Efterfest raged and the evening was ruined. But hey, atleast I won :D

Other than that I've only had a long serious phonecall with an old fling, damned the day I started getting a beard and wondered why Marie refuses to tell me what happened in the dream about me ^^ Ofc I know, You know, hell everybody knows what it obviously was about, but she just won't admit it!!!

Anyways as I promised before I will become a bit more active when it comes to the blog, but to do this I need YOU to tell me once again what you want me to write about! Do you want me to analyse replays? Start shoutcasting games? Upload naked pics of myself or just keep writing random dumb stuff?

Ciao

New blog, New games and a new day =)

February 18th 2010 at 19:35 by Loda

Allright so once again I've taken the time to sit down and write about some of the absolutely marvelous things that generally happens in my life!

So where to begin? Yesterday I had my first exam of this semester and can now take some days to breath out! Or well I always take it pretty chill, but now I actually deserve it :D I'm gonna try to be more active (yes I said it again) on this blog, and my way of making sure I will is to write shorter entries and more often. Sure I'll prolly get mad and write a whole essay about my view of games, matches and so on but for now I'll just take it a bit more chill!

Dota + Duckys dreamteam = true

As many of you have allready heard me and my mates from enothome has added some players and created Duckys Dream Team :D We've decided to participate in the leagues and tournies that we take serious, and after many hours of scrimming/talking/stratmaking I feel that we are on par with everything and everyone the dota world can throw at us! As usual fans and trolls are looking forward to a future game vs us and Nirvana.int, and I can just say that so am I :)

We've been scrimming vs a lot of different teams, and atm I just feel that there is not much at all that can stop us!!! It feels great that we've been able to meld together in this way and now we have players that can play each and every role to its fullest. We've even been using techies in many of our scrims and haven't lost a match :)

And to sum up the dota part we've allready played a scrim vs nirvana, and won! But as the mannered guy I am I won't upload it since it will just create drama and anger from them :)

Avalon heroes + bogdan vs Moon

Another thing that I've decided to do is to do some work for SK-Gaming once again! Me and bogdan will go to germany with full expenses paid and ofc a nice salary to sum it all up. We're gonna go participate in some showmatches, and the game to be played is Avalaon heroes. First we're gonna play some games vs blizzard + people from the audience and then we're gonna team up with the blizzard guys and play vs Moon, sky, and some other dudes! It's gonna be really fun playing this kind of game vs allstars like moon, but first of all I have to learn which heroes are imba and those that are not :D

STARCRAFT 2 BETA + LODA = TRUE

So yes I got the BETA for SC2 and I'm soooo soooo happy =D I've just played 3 games so far, but I really like the sequel so far and it's really an awesome rts game! But I have to admit that I suck... I haven't microed for so long, and it's just sad to play vs really good people :D But I'll get there in time I guess :P

Sooo that's all for me I think... Actually gonna play a scrim in hon now since my friend has been bugging me for a month to play with them again so wish me luck! :D

Quid non pro quo at it's peak

January 18th 2010 at 21:50 by Loda

At long last my friends I've decided to once again open the gates of my mind just to try to let you see the awesomeness that hides within! I've been trying to hide from the allseeing imbeciles of the public for a while now through just ignoring everyone! This was mb not such a good idea since as I've said before 90% of the world is filled with idiots, and ofc the competitive dota scene is not different... I'm just so tired of reading that "LODA GOES HON STOPS DOTA" at sites that has never asked me for a statement nor seems to care about their sources or if their so called "news" are just the latest pile of shit found on some random forum. But who am I to judge? I mean e-sport sites has been trying to become more and more like other sport sites, the difference is only that write questionmarks after their headlines that could just be rumours =) LODA TO HON???? LODA JOINS AEON.RU??!? Pfft but not even the free working 14 year old sexthirsty pimple virgins can do their job anymore... And then people actually try to say that this is a way for me to get attention? GAH I'M JUST SO TIRED OF YOUR WORTHLESS OPINIONS..................... Why do I still even consider reading comments on news concerning me? If all I wanted was attention I would just have stayed in china (Yes I've gotten several offers), or mb I would have updated my blog every single day to squeeze the last out of my faithful fans. But who cares about my opinion anyways =)

Aaaahh and before I forget I just wanna say:

1: Thanks to all the people that actually wished me luck and kept supporting me even if they believed I left the scene for a copy :) I love you all very much, and there will always be a special place for you in my heart :)

2: I do not really understand the logic behind people flaming me for not being one of the top players anymore and bla bla bla, it's always the same people saying this after my team has lost a tournament etc. I mean ofc I'm a washup when my team only won two of the major tournaments in europe last year, gamescon prolly being the biggest of them all. And this is not about bragging, it's just honest facts and I wish that all you haters will die a cruel and painfull death somewhere where everyone can see you linger but won't help you :):):):)::)::):)

3: I was only a standin for Aeon.ru because pgg asked me, and I enjoy playing with that bunch of russians, even if we have a hard time understanding eachother sometimes (azen ofc lying about not hearing me on vent) :D I would never leave my old team without talking it through with all of them, but since we had at long last left fnatic (thank god) and with my team staying in china for a while I did not see the problem with playing as a standin for another team, or?!?

4: Hon will not be a game I will take serious for a long while, atleast not untill it has been seriously balanced. It's not like I've signed a contract with anyone or something like that. As I've said before I'm helping my irl mate POLISEN with his team, and tbh this would never be a team I would choose if it wasn't friendship involved :) Saying I switched game caus I'm playing hon is like saying "LODA LEAVES DOTA FOR DRAGON AGE" Because I imagine I've spent 10x times more time on this awesome rpg than on hon!

5: I loved china and all the people there <3 It was an awesome experience and I just wanna say thnx to the fangirl who actually gave me a kiss :D And the other girl nanke? Who gave me a necklace as a gift (I hope you've got the other part of the heart right?) :D

Ahhhh how sweet it is to just think about how angry some stuff makes you, and just raaaaaaageeee on a place where you can write anything you want :) Uni started today, and it actually feels really nice to live in a new city filled with students students students. I just hope im lucky with my group tommorrow, I'm happy just as long I've got something pretty to look at =) Aaahh and zon has been lovely enough to help my stay down here be a green one!

Shoutout to bogdan my only love, and ofc to sofia who's only using me to make her look good at hon (Yea sorry guys I do play it sometimes... but it's only because she's a girl and she likes the colours...) and then ignores me with the excuse that she's not a talkative person?!

Bon voyage, inshallah, Jambo sana, in god we trust and ehhh and other words that has nothing to do with eachother! Wish me luck for tomorrow! And remember that in my team EVERYBODY LOVES EVERYBODY

P.S no I don't believe the topic to be a real sentence =)

Pick School Game 1: Conclusion

September 21st 2009 at 23:32 by Loda

The night has arrived, music is faintly playing in the background and my laptop is as annoying as usual... I've just been playing two Ardm games in Pride.dota! The first game was really entertaining with a lot of random stabs, fights and kills. My omni swept down anyone who challenged him with his satanic + cuirass nothing could stop him!!! The second game was booring -.- so nothing to add there :D Won both though!

Allright, you have had your say! Eight heroes banned, ten heroes picked and a lineup that would somewhat cry out cookiecutter in our faces. But this is a good match to start with, and I will give you all my view of how the game may have been played. But first I'll summerise the picks!

Sentinel: fnatic

Bans: Tauren chieftain, rhasta, Dark Seer, Clockwerk goblin

Picks: Bane, Potm, Sand King, Shadow Priest, Slardar

Scourge: Aeon

Bans: Morphling, Batrider, Enchantress. Undying

Picks: Abbadon, Viper, Kunka, Lion, Tide

I'm believe that the strat you picked for fnatic was strat that is really strong in the hands of those players ^^ This is the kind of lineup we could play vs any team and any strat and still be able to win. Every single player has hero that they can play to its fullest and the lanephase will go well. By sending potm SK top we can be sure that all lanes will be able to handle on their own. I believe the best way for both teams to lane would be:

Top: SK, Potm vs Viper, Abbadon

This is a really even lane tbh, and even if people tend to think that abbadon + orb > all it is easy to underestimate the dual stun power of SK and Potm. Both also have great ways of escaping, but I believe that both sent and scourge will exchange about the same amount of kills and deaths while Viper is the one with the most cs.

Mid: Bane vs kunka

This should be an easy win for Bane imo, if a solo bane knows what he's doing there are not many heroes that would stand a chance here. Possibly the kunka will survive on the lane but he should be underfarmed if the Bane stays on lane.

Bot: SP, Slardar vs Lion, Tide.

This is prolly the lane that could look the most even, but I would much rather play the Slardar, SP lane than scourges Tide, lion. But since Aeon usually play really aggressive they could prolly be able to grab a few kills on this lane, but they wouldn't come out without losses.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even if it may sound that I find fnatics lineup to be much better, this is due to the fact that the heroes suit the team and It's not often Aeon plays a game as their lineup would make them do. Even if they are good at executing these strats they would loose a lot being kept into playing in one way. Their strat is stronger if consider hero vs hero and in 5on5 aswell. But I just believe that if Slardar get bkb and SK gets dagger its not much that will stop this gang combo, but I'm not really a fair judge :D It would be a game around 45 min long where it would be really tight all the time up until around 35 where we would fight with a Aegis on slardar, push and win!

What I would to see more of, is if you guys could pick something innovative, like a push strat etc, even if you don't know eachother! If the bans are just right, you could pick much much more than what people tend to do. For a team with less individual skill you should actually concentrate on these a bit different strats that you execute perfectly. This has been a reoccuring thing in the DotA scene, where a team wins a whole tournament, much cause of the strenght of the strat and playstyle. It's very important to pick the right hero for the right person etc!

Secret tip of the day is to farm the lanes in swift manner, but still concentrate on landing almost all the creeps. This is the easiest with heroes like SF, Potm, Qop etc. Get all creeps down low enough so they will die from a juke and then push the lane. This is mostly used in mid-game where the outer towers have fallen, but it's mostly better to just push out and then move around the map, than getting stuck on your lane lasthitting every single creep!

now come with thoughts on my view of the game etc

Cheers
